Almost all industries need data and software development technicians, from banking to broadcasting. Jobs in digital are exciting and often involve innovative and cutting edge work.
There are lots of digital apprenticeships suitable for career starters. The two highlighted here are:
- data technician: collecting, presenting and helping to analyse information (approx. 2 years)
- software development technician: learning to program and create software applications used by businesses (approx. 18 months)
A data technician apprenticeship could lead to a career in data science or business analysis, while a software development technician apprenticeship could lead to a career in software engineering or games design.
Apprenticeship duration: approx. 18 to 24 months
Salary expectations: starting salary can be up to £24k
